Alpha Wire introduces a smaller, lighter alternative to PVC hook-up wire designed for use in metric applications
Alpha Wire's Metric EcoWire with mPPE construction has strong dielectric properties which allow for a reduced wall thickness while maintaining the same insulating properties of PVC. EcoWire's diameter is up to 45% smaller than equivalent wires. The 1.03 specific gravity of mPPE is 25% to 40% lower than other insulation materials. Along with reduced wall thickness, the lower specific gravity yields significant weight savings of up to 40%. No halogens, phthalates, or heavy metals are used to make EcoWire and it meets RoHS and WEEE requirements for the elimination of hazardous substances and recyclability. EcoWire is available in metric sizes for accurate conversions with AWG.
