Raspberry Pi-Based Industrial IO Collector
EDATEC's industrial PCs provide serial interfaces to factory-floor sensors and actuators
EDATEC makes industrial PCs based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4), which is pre-installed on every PC. CM4 Sensing is offered in many variations depending on the included CM4 module. To mitigate CM4 frequency down-shifting due to excessive heat build-up, CM4 Sensing series PCs come in a rugged 103 mm x 73 mm x 32 mm metal case that contacts key components of the CM4 to remove heat. The case includes an external antenna connection for reliable wireless connectivity and four threaded holes to accommodate a standard DIN rail mounting clip. The CM4 is plugged into a carrier board with extras like eMMC memory, an SD card slot, 4K HDMI video output, a battery-backed real-time clock (RTC), and a buzzer. Options include a cellular wireless modem and the built-in Display Serial Interface (DSI), which allows users to attach a Raspberry Pi-compatible 7" touch display.
The CM4 Sensing series are available in 8 GB eMMC and 2 GB DDR memory options. The eMMC and SD card memory types are not mutually exclusive; applications can use both types, such as storing the operating system in eMMC memory and using the SD memory card for data. The system is powered with an 8 VDC to 28 VDC supply and outputs a 5 V/1.5 A output for an external display.
