PTS Platinum SMD Flat Chip Temperature Sensors

Vishay's PTS temperature sensors are suitable for processing on automatic SMD assembly systems

Image of Vishay's PTS Temp Sensors Vishay's PTS AT SMD flat chip temperature sensors are the perfect choice for temperature control of electronics operating under varying environmental conditions. The highly controlled platinum thin film manufacturing process guarantees an outstanding stability of temperature characteristics which ensures reliable operation even under harsh conditions. Typical applications include automotive, aviation, and industrial electronics.

PTS series platinum SMD flat chip temperature sensors feature standardized characteristics according to IEC 60751 and IEC 60068. Tolerance classes available are class F0.3 and class F0.6. Temperature coefficient from 0°C to +100°C is 3,850 ppm/K. The temperature range is from -55°C to +155°C. These platinum temperature sensors have reaction times down to t0.9 ≤2s (in air). They are RoHS compliant (RoHS directive 2011/65/EU) and halogen-free. Available sizes/resistances at 0°C are 100 Ω in a 0603 package, 100 Ω and 500 Ω in a 0805 package, and 100 Ω, 500 Ω, and 1 kΩ in a 1206 package. A homogeneous film of platinum is deposited on a high-grade (AI2O3) ceramic substrate and conditioned to achieve the correct temperature coefficient and stability. The sensor elements are covered by a protective coating designed for electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection. The terminations receive a final pure matte tin on nickel plating. The immunity against tin whisker growth has been proven under extensive testing.
