This slide illustrates typical applications for Panasonic’s PIR sensors. One application example for the PIR sensors is in security cameras, used to tell the camera when to take pictures or video. Another popular application is in a thermostatic control, to turn on the air conditioning when a person enters a room. The Panasonic sensors can also be used to automatically turn on lights when an area becomes occupied. With more applications popping up for smart homes and “Internet of Things”, more devices are expected to require human detection functionality which these sensors can provide.
