The Si87xx family extends Skyworks Solutions' portfolio of digital isolators with products providing 5 kV withstand ratings and good noise performance. These products are best for isolating signal buses. They provide the same safety isolation ratings but also satisfy all the requirements for a reinforced rating under IEC60747-5-2. The requirement that the isolator survive a 10 kV surge event is met with the Si87xx family. These products are specifically drop-in upgrades for optocouplers. They are a good choice for systems using optocouplers but needing lifetime, reliability, power or timing improvements.
