Using isolated feedback has a couple of benefits: The first is better current regulation, which means better bulb to bulb dimming performance. The second is that using the signal transformer approach results in a solution size that is smaller than solutions using a traditional opto coupler, error amplifier and associated components. The bulbs shown here depict color shift due to current regulation imbalances. As the animation advances, one can see how the bulbs become uniform with proper current regulation. This is the advantage provided by the TPS92070.
