The IHLP series is manufactured in many steps, as shown in this slide. First, the copper wire is wound, welded to the lead-frame, then a special mix of Iron powder is pressed around the coil. The IHLP is then cured, trimmed, and the leads are cut and formed around the part. The part is then tested, and packaged.
