At Viking Technology another step in the DVT process is the Mechanical Test, Visual Inspection, and Part Confirmation. Mechanical testing of form-fit is performed by installing memory in adjacent motherboard sockets. All mechanical specifications follow the JEDEC Mechanical Outline or MO. Shock and Vibration testing is performed as part of mechanical testing. Visual Inspection is performed to identify any visual defects in the DIMMs. During Visual inspection, parts are inspected for defects on PCB Silkscreen, labels, component alignment, or any other aspect of manufacturing workmanship. Part Confirmation verifies that BOM contents match the module under test and its SPD data matches with data in the BOM.
