This tutorial will provide an overview of the main considerations when selecting a fan and discuss each consideration individually. There will be reviews of the types of bearings and the types of AC and DC fan motors, including a discussion of the different forms of motor protection. The part number structure will be examined and examples of both AC and DC fan products available from Qualtek will be given. Additionally, a listing of target markets for these products will be covered.
