Stop Tedious Assembly With the Quixon™ Solderless Terminal Solderless terminals can be used in virtually any application to connect a wire to a barrier strip or to components such as contactors, relays, switches, capacitors, etc. The process in which quick disconnects are mated to male tabs can be tedious and difficult for the operator making the connections on the assembly line. The avoid such issues, Molex recently developed Quixon™ quick-disconnect terminals.

One of the difficulties with typical quick disconnects is the high force needed to mate them to the male tab. High force is generally required by the design engineer so the terminal does not disconnect easily. However, this can make the assembly difficult. Imagine the operator spending 8 hours a day repeatedly mating a quick disconnect to a tab, fighting the high force that is supposed to keep them together.

Enter the Quixon. We changed the design of the standard quick disconnect by adding a raised floor and cantilever beam that flexes when it is put on the male tab making it easier to attach. Once it is mated, it's difficult to get it off. We also allowed for blind mating because operators don't always have easy access to the tab. How did we do this? Side relief cuts on both sides so the Quixon can be mated at an off angle.

Quixon is available in un-insulated, partially insulated and fully insulated versions in a variety of wire sizes and packing
