The extra layer of protection this plating ensures reliable RF performance. Tin-nickel plating is RoHS and REACH compliant and does not contain potentially harmful, commonly used anti-corrosive elements. Mechanical robustness is achieved by applying alternate plating that can extend the life of the RF interconnect in situations where they are exposed to unfavorable conditions such as in marine environments. The level of salt spray resistance is measured in hours. All connectors and adapters are exposed to concentrated salt spray and tested for the corrosion of the base material for a full 720 hours to ensure reliable performance.
