ams OSRAM chip technology produces brighter IR illuminations and image quality while extending battery run-time
ams OSRAM thin-film IR:6 chip technology increases the performance of IR-based applications such as biometric authentication and security cameras, by providing brighter IR illumination for improved image quality while extending battery runtime. The OSLON P1616 offers an outstanding power/size ratio combined with different illumination angles, enabling adaptation to the needs of the application.
Features
- Improved WL steering to offer 920 nm in addition to 850 nm and 940 nm
- Higher sensitivity than the typically used image sensor
- Improved n-contact (bond pad) design
- Up to 42% higher wall-plug efficiency and 35% higher output compared with current devices
- Improved current spreading across the device and lower forward voltage
- Available wavelengths of 850 nm, 920 nm, and 940 nm for imager sensitivity vs. red glow minimization
- Adjustments on the chip surface for better light outcoupling
- Improvement on the internal chip reflectivity and chip mirror design
