ADRF5020 and ADRF5130 Silicon SPDT Switches

ADI's ADRF5020 is a general-purpose, single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch manufactured using a silicon process. It comes in a 3 mm x 3 mm, 20-lead land grid array (LGA) package and provides high isolation and low insertion loss from 100 MHz to 30 GHz. This broadband switch requires dual supply voltages, +3.3 V and -2.5 V, and provides CMOS/LVTTL logic-compatible control. Applications include RF and microwave test and measurement equipment, an alternative to PIN diode-based switches, military radios, radars, electronic countermeasure systems, 5G cellular infrastructure, and RF front ends.

The ADRF5130 is a high power, reflective, 0.7 GHz to 3.5 GHz, silicon, single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch in a leadless, surface-mount package. The switch is ideal for high power and cellular infrastructure applications, like long-term evolution (LTE) base stations. The ADRF5130 has high power handling of 43 dBm (maximum), a low insertion loss of 0.6 dB, input third-order intercept of 68 dBm (typical), and 0.1 dB compression (P0.1dB) of 46 dBm. On-chip circuitry operates at a single, positive supply voltage of 5 V and typical supply current of 1.06 mA, making the ADRF5130 an ideal alternative to PIN diode-based switches. The device comes in a RoHS compliant, compact, 24-lead, 4 mm x 4 mm LFCSP package. Applications include cellular infrastructure MIMO systems RF front ends for LNA protection, cellular repeaters antenna switches, portable and modular RF test and measurement equipment, and PIN diode replacement in high power RF applications.
