XF+ (eXtended Filtering Plus) Technology

Calian XF+ technology proactive RF filtering is designed for pure and clean GNSS signal reception

Image of Calian XF+ (eXtended Filtering Plus) TechnologyThe Calian XF+ technology is designed to address escalating RF congestion surrounding GNSS frequency bands (1164 MHz to 1300 MHz and 1559 MHz to 1606 MHz). By filtering strong out-of-band signals before amplification, incorporating highly linear low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), and providing cross-band isolation between the upper and lower GNSS bands, XF+ technology enables pure and clean GNSS signal reception in challenging RF environments.

Traditional filtering approaches often leave the antenna’s LNA susceptible to interference, particularly from high-amplitude near-band signals. XF+ mitigates this risk by applying double-hump filtering at the very input of the antenna’s LNA, protecting subsequent amplifier stages to help prevent their saturation. Cross-band isolation allows the LNA to continue to provide usable GNSS signals if one of either the upper or lower GNSS bands is being jammed.

Features

  • Filtering of out-of-band signals below the lower GNSS bands, between the upper and lower GNSS bands, and above the upper GNSS bands
  • Double-hump pre-filtering implemented at the input of the antenna LNA
  • LNAs designed with excellent linearity characteristics to mitigate in-band interference
  • Separate LNA paths for the upper and lower GNSS bands for added cross-band isolation and jamming mitigation
  • Enables continued GNSS reception in the presence of strong interfering signals
  • Supports reliable GNSS reception
Applications
  • Timing systems requiring high signal integrity
  • Autonomous vehicles
  • Precision agriculture
  • Surveying
  • Telecommunications
  • GNSS installations operating in RF-congested environments
