TTC-6P-3-APL Surge Protection for MCR Technology

The Phoenix Contact TTC-6P-3-APL product allows customers to achieve reliable surge protection for HF Ethernet advanced physical layer (APL) applications. This product consists of a protective plug and base element with an integrated status indicator for a three-wire Ex i signal circuit. A protective circuit is available exclusively with gas discharge tubes. These solutions are designed for use in two-wire Ethernet systems with cable shielding such as APL and 2-WISE, as well as in the fieldbus system (e.g., PROFIBUS PA) in accordance with the FISCO concept. The TTC-6P-3-APL can be used in safety-related circuits up to SIL 3.

Ethernet-APL enables the direct connection of field devices in harsh environments such as chemical plants or refineries. Robust two-wire cabling ensures fast and reliable communication with transmission rates of up to 10 Mbps. Overvoltage protection prevents failures and malfunctions of the connected devices, which is important for continuous monitoring and control in process automation.
