With the R-78K-1.0’s high efficiency of up to 95% no heatsink is required, and operation from -40°C to +90°C is possible with slight derating. The compact TO-220-compatible SIP3 package measures only 11.5 mm x 7.55 mm x 10.2 mm, so it saves board space.
