For high-efficiency rectification or freewheeling functions, their field-effect rectifier diodes, the FERD family, improve the power density capability of the converters. For power converter applications where silicon diodes reach the limits of their operating temperature and power density, ST’s first- and second-generation silicon carbide devices offer optimal reliability.
