In summary, brick type DC-DC power converters are an essential part of PCB power supply design. A stable temperature is required for optimum power supply performance. ATS’s power brick heat sinks are engineered to create minimum pressure drop and to maximize fin surface area. The heat sinks are available in full, half, quarter, and one-eighth packaging. An advantage of the maxiFLOW™ Power Brick heat sink is that the design allows the fins to overhang components, which is often necessary on densely populated printed circuit boards.
