The example from the previous slide requires three packages of the 1 x 1 mm XSON6 package for the discrete logic solution, 3 mm2 of board space, not including any space for routing. By comparison, the Dual Configurable solution fits into a 1 x 1.7 mm package which is a 43% savings in board space. This footprint reduction provides solutions suitable for space constrained layouts and enables the use of smaller printed circuit boards and the potential cost reductions.
