The WSHM and WSHP are a part of the Power Metal Strip® family that offers the robust pulse capability of an all-metal welded construction and a laser trimming process that provides design flexibility. This series offers a high power rating of up to 10 W on a small footprint, providing a high power density that enables smaller and lighter circuit designs. All-metal welded construction consists of a low TCR resistive element that is electron beam welded to a large copper terminal in order to maximize heat transfer from the resistive element to the PCB. The insert is an electrically-isolating thermally conductive material that provides the shortest path to dissipate heat energy from the resistive element. The liquid crystal polymer mold compound provides support and aids in heat dissipation and is more resistant to thermal shock than epoxy compounds.
