Multifuse® 1206 Size Polymer PTC Resettable Fuses – MF-NSMF Series

Bourns' Multifuse PTC resettable devices provide secure protection as they react to an overcurrent or overtemperature event by changing from a very low resistive state to a very high resistive state. This is also referred to as the positive temperature coefficient or PTC effect. Once the overcurrent surge has been reset, the Multifuse device automatically resets to its low resistive state and allows the equipment to resume operation. The lineup of 1206 size Multifuse has expanded to include Bourns’ innovative freeXpansion design, elevating the performance of the resettable fuse by incorporating higher hold currents, elevated voltages, enhanced resistance stability, and more compact footprints. The freeXpansion technology allows the device to freely expand and contract without mechanical restrictions for more stable performance, extended product life, and manufacturing in a smaller size. These advances cater to various applications, primarily serving as safeguards for low DC voltage ports in USB, HDMI, HDTV, PC, laptop computers, data centers, and portable consumer products.
