Discrete Solid State Drive (SSD) Solution

Toshiba’s broad product line up meets these requirements with the latest TVS diodes, Shottkey barrier diodes (SBD), LDOs, load switch ICs, and the powerful eFuse IC.

Power Protection Circuits Solutions

External electrostatic discharge (ESD), abnormal power supply inputs, and overvoltage surges during hot-swap often cause problems for systems. To protect valuable data and PMICs from these damages, a combination of eFuse IC, ESD protection diodes, Zener diodes, and Schottky barrier diodes is very effective.

Toshiba's eFuse IC implements various protection functions such as ultra high-speed short-circuit protection and overcurrent, overvoltage, and in-rush current suppression in one package. Furthermore, since it has acquired IEC62368-1 (G.9), it provides a simpler and stronger protection circuit than before.

In addition, a high IPP ESD protection diodes or Zener diodes can be used to counter several ns to ms ESD surges and transient voltage. Furthermore, by combining with SBDs, a more robust protection circuit can be created which acts as a measure against negative voltage and prevents reverse current.

Power Distribution Switches Solutions

The choice of a power switch and LDO for voltage conversions is especially important for low-voltage / high-current power control.

In some cases, low voltage lines do not meet minimum voltage requirements for many popular load switches. The TCK207AN  load switch IC operates at only 0.75 V for low-voltage power supply switches. It also has low on-resistance of 21 mΩ and can output up to 2.0 A. Toshiba's small MOSFET with low on-resistance can be found in various packages and configurations.

If the power rail itself is not enough, use an LDO regulator. For instance, the TCR3U series low-power consumption LDO features a wide output voltage of 0.8 V to 5.0 V with low current consumption and various built-in functions to reduce quiescent current and improve transient response.

In addition, the TCR15AG series large current LDO adopts dual power supply technology and can output up to 1.5 A with a wide output voltage of 0.6 V to 3.6 V with ultra-low dropout voltage. LDO regulators are fantastic because they provide very accurate voltage rails with minimal dropout and fit on just about any design due to their small nature.
