In summary, the Littelfuse LSP05 and LSP10 series of Surge Protection Modules provide transient voltage protection for outdoor and commercial LED lighting fixtures. Where applications such as roadway, parking garage, outdoor stadiums, and tunnel lighting systems have the highest exposure to lightning transients. The LSP modules provide a very high level of safety with features such as a special indication function that will trigger the light to shut off when the module is over heated. To prevent fire hazards and protect expensive lighting fixtures the module is constructed with thermally protected MOVs. Many products on the market do not have this level of safety built into the Surge Protection Modules like the Littelfuse product.
