This video shows the HVArc Guard® surface mount MLCC 1812 case size, 150nF, 1000VDC rated capacitor in a parallel comparison test with a competitor high voltage surface mount MLCC 1812 case size, 22nF, 1000VDC rated. Both uncoated surface mount MLCC's were placed in a fixture that was connected to an Associated Research Model 7512 dielectric withstand voltage tester, set to apply a continuous ramp rate of 3000VDC per second until the first MLCC breakdown is detected. Simultaneously triggered was a High Speed Camera capturing surface arcing and breakdown of the device under test.
