STMicroelectronics offers their industrial reference design kit designed for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. The kit includes an ARM Cortex-M4 32-bit microcontroller, an inertial module which consists of a three-dimensional accelerometer and a three-dimensional gyroscope, a barometric pressure sensor, a relative humidity and temperature sensor, a digital microphone, an EEPROM for data storage, and a power management scheme which utilizes a switching regulator and an LDO regulator. The kit also comes with a firmware package which includes dedicated algorithms for advanced time and frequency domain signal processing and analysis of the digital accelerometer, drivers for pressure, relative humidity, and temperature sensor monitoring, and audio algorithms for acoustic emissions. The compact design is ideal for monitoring motors, pumps, and fans.
