RevPi Core S and SE Raspberry Pi-Based IPC

Based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module, KUNBUS presents updated versions of its industrial PC RevPi Core, composed of open hardware and software, which complies with the EN61131-2 standard. These are the new S and SE series.

The RevPi Core S/SE, based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S and positioned between the RevPi 3+ and RevPi 4 series, offers plenty of computing power and storage capacity. Installed in a DIN rail housing, the RevPi Core S/SE already has USB, Micro-USB, Ethernet, and HDMI connections. The Compute Module 4S is a compute module in the form factor of the CM3+ on which the more powerful Arm® Cortex®-A72 processor of the CM4 is installed. The RevPi Core S/SE has an eMMC memory of 8 GB up to 32 GB. In addition to revealing the circuit diagrams, KUNBUS is rigorously pursuing the open-source concept within the software. A specially adapted version of Raspbian with RT patch is used as the standard operating system. Using Raspbian ensures that nearly any software or application running on Raspberry Pi will also run on Revolution Pi. Full root access allows obstacle-free programming and implementation of customized programs. By cooperating with various software manufacturers, KUNBUS provides inexpensive and powerful control and SCADA software for users preferring off-the-peg software solutions. As a result, Revolution Pi can be developed into a small control system suitable for industrial use.

The S series of the RevPi Core is compatible with all KUNBUS expansion modules, including the fieldbus gateways. The SE series of the RevPi Core can only be expanded with KUNBUS IO modules. Fieldbus gateways are not supported in the SE series.
