Gesture Control System

Performance parameters of the VCNL4020 gesture system are set using an I2C interface. The 16-bit resolution allows it to continue functioning when competing sensors overflow or saturate. These emitters put out up to 60 mW/sr at a current of 100 mA and can be pulsed with a current up to 1 Amp yielding 350 mW/sr. They are plenty intense when longer range sensing is required. They are also fast with a rise and fall time of 30 ns.
