AC-coupled

An AC-coupled battery energy storage system uses separate inverters for the solar array and the battery. The AC-coupled system stores energy in a battery that is connected to the AC side of the electrical system through its own inverter. The solar array uses a separate inverter, and the battery inverter manages charging, discharging, and supplying power to the grid or onsite loads.
